For those of you who were not in attendance on March 26th 2010, Club BLVD was flooded with hundreds of graduating seniors! 12 local students, including Miss Teen New York USA, Thathiana Diaz, stormed the runway with this year's hottest Prom trends.

Dresses were provided by David's Bridal, Xcite and Morgan & Co. Twenty five vendors distributed information and over 100 raffle prizes were given away!

Every guest who visited the AfterProm.com table received a goodie bag stuffed with swag worth over $500.

Simple Ways To Green Your Prom Night

Everyone is talking about going green, finding eco-friendly products and reducing their carbon footprint…What does it all mean anyway? You don’t need to be obsessed with recycling or celebrate Earth Day to understand these simple solutions that can help save the environment. At the very least you’ll show others what you care about and do some good in 2009! Be sure to check out the Eco-Key for definitions to all of these words you keep hearing about.

Eco Fashion
Your prom dress can be beautiful, affordable and made of sustainable materials. If it’s a new dress you’re after, try one made out fabric like hemp silk or others produced without pesticides. If you’re interested in finding something unique and super affordable a vintage dress could be for you. Need something a little more original? Take your favorite fabric to a designer and have a custom dress made. Ask for sustainable fabrics at a local supplier or use remnants that the store will most likely be throwing away anyway. Ride Sharing
Renting a limo for the evening? Don’t go at it alone- invite friends to join you! Even better, ask your limo company if they have any hybrid vehicles or a party bus to hold even more people. Searching for those special touches to finish your prom look? Vintage is the way to go for accessories. Look for one of kind pieces in second hand stores or online- that way no one else will look as amazing as you do. Still can’t find what you’re looking for? Make-Up & Hair Care
Make up is the easiest to keep Eco-friendly. Look for organic or natural, mineral powders and foundations. This means that the ingredients you are putting your face come straight from the earth, not from a science lab! Prom Planning
During the first stages of planning the prom, speak to fellow Prom committee members about finding ways to offset some of the carbon emissions from your event. Hot Event - Promoceans' Proms Featured!

Our friend and fabulous New York City Photographer, Staci Schwartz (http://www.stacipop.com) is hosting an exhibition at the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum in California from January 29 - May 9th 2009.

Her exhibit, Prom Show!, will feature a collection of work based only on PROMS. Some of these dynamite shots were taken at a Promoceans event like the photograph above from our annual Prom Fashion Show.

We say Good Luck to Staci as she shows the West Coast how Proms go down on the East Coast!

March 20th 2009 is Tel-A-Vision day! No, it's not about watching your favorite shows - it's about students sharing their vision to the world.

With the help of http://www.telavision.tv/ students log on and create their own video filled with their hopes for the future. Students - simple sign up will give you a free account with access to tools for creation. Teachers - there is an easy six part downloadable curriculum.

It all wraps up on March 20th when a 24 hour showcase of videos will be shared and local "Best of" contests will be held. Don't miss out!
